Skiing Bosco Gurin
A good 90min from Cannobio Lakeview Camp & Resort you will find the really nice but not quite cheap ski resort Bosco Gurin.
One thing should be said in advance: Lake Maggiore is not the Mecca of skiers. With a little search, however, you can find one or the other ski resort where you can easily spend a few days of vacation even from Lake Maggiore. One of them is Bosco Gurin: from the Maggia Valley, after a very winding drive, you reach Gurin, a small Walser village and, at 1506 m.a.s.l., the highest village in Ticino. And the only village in Ticino where German is officially spoken.
With the 4-seater chairlift you reach Rossboda, the middle station of the ski area Bosco Gurin at about 2000m. From there, several surface lifts and another chairlift lead to the slopes. These are mostly good to ride even for children, not too steep and quite wide. The descent to the valley is possible on a black slope and is demanding. There are some practice facilities for children, for example at the bottom station.
In addition to the ski slopes, Bosco Gurin also has a very long and beautiful toboggan run and various refreshment stops. New is a summer toboggan run, which can also be used in winter. In the summer you can also rent monster scooters and ride the very long descent with the scooters (Attention: cycling gloves are really recommended here!). A very nice summer alternative with a wonderful view! In summer you can also combine the excursion very well with a hike in the Maggia Valley. Bosco Gurin is a really nice excursion destination with many leisure possibilities for young and old.
