Shopping in Cannobio
First things first: in Cannobio you will find everything you need for your daily needs in two supermarkets. Directly after entering Cannobio (after the tennis courts on the left) just before the public beach (via Francesco Magistris) is the “old Carrefour”, a nice but in summer always extremely busy small supermarket with a very good fresh meat counter. Here you will find everything you need for your daily needs, including a good selection of regional and international wines, fresh fruit and vegetables. A few hundred meters away in via Zaccheo Paolo, the “new Carrefour” was recently opened. It is slightly larger, offers parking spaces and a parking garage in the basement and is therefore easier to get to by car.
In this Carrefour you will also find a very good fresh meat counter and everything for your daily needs. At the entrance there is also a counter with snacks, paninis etc. for the small appetite in between.
In addition, Cannobio offers many nice stores on the lake and especially in the old town that invite you to stroll around. Leather goods, shoes, clothing – but also things that may become important on vacation, such as an optician and several pharmacies.
Outlet Center
For larger purchases of clothing or to pass the time on a rainy day, the outlet centers Foxtown Outlet in Mendrisio (Ticino/Switzerland) or Vicolungo the Styles Outlet (Italy), to which we have dedicated separate pages in our excursion tips. Both outlets are so huge that you can easily spend a whole day there and spend a month’s wages.
Larger supermarkets & DIY store
If the selection in Cannobio is not enough, Verbania is the place to go: There are many supermarkets in Verbania where you can do your grocery shopping and other shopping. Particularly noteworthy:
Esselunga (Viale Giuseppe Azari) is a popular supermarket chain in Italy. It is characterized by a large selection of fresh products such as fruit, vegetables, meat and fish. Esselunga also offers a variety of other products, including household and drugstore items and a large selection of wines and spirits. However, the prices are not necessarily cheap, Esselunga is not a discount store.
If you are looking for a well-known discounter, you will also find it in Verbania: Lidl is represented there (Corso Nazioni Unite) and offers many Italian groceries in addition to the standard range known in Germany and Switzerland. The large self-service counter for fresh baked goods is particularly noteworthy.
Of particular interest to campers: do-it-yourself DIY stores as we know them in Germany and Switzerland are rather rare in Italy. A Cipir DIY store has recently opened in Verbania (Via del Tiro a Segno 13), offering the typical range of lighting, plants, electrics, paints, cleaning products, screws and small parts. Well-stocked and with fair prices.
Shopping centers in Gravellona Toce
The typical large shopping centers we are familiar with are rarely found on Lake Maggiore. But there is also a typical shopping town directly on Lake Maggiore, about 45 minutes from the Lakeview Resort: Gravellona Toce is a picturesque town in Piedmont and a real insider tip for shopping lovers. Here you will find a wide range of stores, from retail chains to traditional boutiques, offering you a unique shopping experience. And above all: large shopping centers!
One of the most popular shopping centers in Gravellona Toce is the“Centro Commerciale Le Isole“. This huge shopping center offers a wide range of stores and services and is a popular destination for shopping enthusiasts. The heart of the store is the extremely large “Iper-Coop”, where you can find groceries as well as almost all other everyday necessities, car accessories, electrical items, etc. H&M, Benetton, Geox and many other clothing stores in the Centro Commerciale Le Isole fill every closet. In Gravellona Toce Centro Isole you will find a variety of stores selling everything from fashion and shoes to electronics and household goods. Here you can discover your favorite brands and search for new trends. The shopping center is designed to meet the needs and preferences of different target groups and offer a pleasant shopping experience.
In addition to the stores, the shopping center also offers various services to make your stay a pleasant one. Only about 200m away you will find another very large shopping center, the Parco Commerciale dei Laghi.
