A good 75 minutes from Cannobio Lakeview Camp & Resort is the Ondaland water park, which should be a must for any waterslide fan.

Does Hydrotubo, Kamikaze, Super Kamikaze or Dual Loop sound like fun to you? Then Ondaland is just the thing for you. Around 20 water slides, some of which are really unusual and some of which are very adrenaline-charged, provide fun for young and old alike. In addition, Ondaland offers a very large and beautiful children’s water park for non-swimmers with small slides, a wave pool, very large and well-kept sunbathing areas, a whitewater river to swim through on rings and much more. It is not for nothing that Ondaland is one of the largest water parks in Italy: it is simply huge!

The associated gastronomy is not spectacular, but for the quick hunger at lunch perfectly okay and the price reasonable. Burgers, pizza, pasta, cool drinks – typical swimming pool food, but good quality and nice atmosphere and enough seating inside and outside. And: it seems to be mostly fresh produce! Ondaland is exclusively outdoor and therefore only open in the summer months. For us and our kids, Ondaland is an absolute must in the summer and easily fills an entire day. Pro tip: Even younger children can use almost all slides if their parents sign a statement. Parents then take responsibility for this and sign a document at the information desk next to the entrance. The children are then given a “braccialetto” (wristband) and can use all the slides except for the three most extreme ones. Of course, parental supervision is still recommended, especially for young children.
By the way, the Ondaland season pass pays for itself after just a few visits, so if you’re staying at Lake Maggiore for a while, it’s worth considering. There are also often early-bird deals on Ondaland’s Facebook page, usually just before the season starts or, for example, around Christmas. You can save quite a bit this way and also skip the lines at the ticket counters.

If you still have the energy for power shopping after a hard day at Ondaland Water Park, you can still go on a shopping spree afterwards at Vicolungo the Style Outlets. It is only a few minutes away from Ondaland.
