Slides, wave pool, and children's area
Do Hydrotubo, Kamikaze, Super Kamikaze, or Dual Loop sound like fun to you? Then Ondaland is just the thing for you. Around 20 water slides, some really unusual and some very adrenaline-charged, provide fun for young and old alike. In addition, Ondaland offers a very large and beautiful children's water park for non-swimmers with small slides, a wave pool, very large and well-kept sunbathing areas, a whitewater river to swim through on rings, and much more. It's not for nothing that Ondaland is one of the largest water parks in Italy: it's simply huge!
Food in the park
The on-site dining isn't spectacular, but it's perfectly fine for a quick lunch and reasonably priced. Burgers, pizza, pasta, cold drinks: typical pool food, but good quality, with a nice atmosphere and plenty of seating indoors and out. And it seems to be mostly fresh!
Season
Ondaland is completely outdoors and therefore only open during the summer months, typically from June through early September. For us and our kids, Ondaland is an absolute must in summer and easily fills a whole day.
Our pro tip for small children
Even smaller children can use almost all the slides if parents sign a waiver. Parents then assume responsibility and sign a document at the information desk next to the entrance. The children then receive a "braccialetto," a wristband, and can use all slides except the three most extreme ones. Parental supervision is still recommended, especially for small children, of course.
Season pass and early bird offers
The season pass at Ondaland pays for itself after just a few visits, so if you're staying at Lake Maggiore for a while, it's worth considering. There are also often early bird offers on Ondaland's Facebook page, usually just before the season starts or at Christmas, for example. Here too you can save quite a bit and skip the wait at the ticket counters.
Combine with shopping
If you still have the energy for power shopping after a hard day at Ondaland Water Park, you can still go on a shopping spree afterwards at Vicolungo the Style Outlets. It is only a few minutes away from Ondaland. And if you prefer something smaller and closer: right in Cannobio there's Acqualand in summer with a water slide and climbing park on the lake.
For families of water lovers, Cannobio is a great base, and you can reach Ondaland from here in a good 75 minutes. You can stay with us in a mobile home on Lake Maggiore, in a holiday apartment with lake view, or on a pitch by the lake.
