A good 20 minutes from Lakeview Camping & Resort in Cannobio is the Lido Locarno swimming pool, our favorite for rainy days and cold winter days on Lake Maggiore. The pool is open all year round: in winter with an indoor pool and thermal pool, and in summer additionally with a large outdoor area and lake access.

Pools, slides and diving tower

This relatively new and architecturally beautiful swimming pool is located directly on the lakeshore. In summer, the lake access of the Lido Locarno is combined with swimming pools, while in winter the indoor pools and the warm thermal pools are particularly inviting. There are 4 water slides at Lido Locarno, two of which are very suitable for children, plus a funnel slide and a very fast looping slide. The diving tower is only open in summer and offers boards and platforms up to 10 m high. The outdoor children's pool is very lovingly designed and large, and the depth of the indoor children's pool can be adjusted. Both indoors and outdoors, Lido Locarno offers pools with separate lanes for training.

Spa, food and thermal pools in winter

In the adjacent building there are areas for high-level spa treatments. The gastronomy at Lido Locarno is good and offers typical swimming pool food. Lido Locarno is very well suited to spend a rainy day with the whole family without frustration. In summer, the swimming pool is highly recommended due to the very extensive outdoor facilities and becomes a beautiful lake resort.

In winter, the thermal pool with outdoor pool at Lido Locarno, with its massage jets, bubble areas and massage benches, has its fans. From the outdoor thermal pool, in winter, you can see the often snow-covered mountains that seem to climb out of Lake Maggiore. Usually paired with dark red sunsets, while the walls of the modern swimming pool are colorfully illuminated. Landscape meets wellness, perfectly staged at Lido Locarno. Prices and cheaper alternatives

However, all this also comes at a price (not entirely cheap), which Lido Locarno is undoubtedly worth: Adults pay 13 Swiss francs for the swimming pool, 18 Swiss francs with slides. Children aged 3 to 15 pay 7 Swiss francs, with slides (from 6 years) 11 Swiss francs, and admission is free for children under 3 years (as of 2026).

If you prefer something a little cheaper, you will also be happy (but only in summer) at Lido Brissago. There you will also find a great water slide, swimming pools, diving tower and lake access. Also in summer, the bathing beach in Cannobio with Acqualand Cannobio is a great alternative! And if the weather clears up: It's not far from the Lido to the old town of Locarno.
