Who we are
Lakeview Cannobio is owned by two German families and managed by a team from Cannobio. Since taking over in 2022, we have been gradually transforming the former Camping Bosco into a modern Camping Resort on Lake Maggiore.
The Owners: Wolfgang & Andreas
Two Germans with Italian hearts. They have spent their free time on Lake Maggiore for decades, commuting between Germany and Cannobio. When the campsite went up for sale in 2022, they seized the opportunity. Since then, they have been realizing their dream of a small paradise by the lake.
The Management: Marica
Marica was born and raised in Cannobio and has managed the site since the takeover. She has worked in management positions in the hotel industry for 30 years, always with the same goal: for you to have a wonderful time.
The Office: Jessica
Jessica takes care of everything related to computers, cash registers, and programming. She is also the adoptive mother of Tigro, our campsite cat.
The Technical Team: Andrea & Mirco
Both are from Cannobio and know the area like the back of their hand. They are equally familiar with Lakeview's technology, from power supply to Wi-Fi.
The Green Areas: Francesco
Francesco is responsible for everything that grows and blooms here. The Cannobio native maintains the plants on the large grounds and ensures that everything is green and colorful.
The Cleanliness: Anna & Oksana
No work receives as much praise as our cleanliness. The credit goes to Anna and Oksana, who perform this important work with great care.
The Kitchen: Emanuele & Leo
Chef Emanuele hails from Sicily, and you can taste it. Together with Leo, he cooks the dishes on the Lakeview menu.
The Service: Chiara, Andrea & Manuel
At Lakeview Ristorante, these three ensure you feel completely at ease, always attentive and with Italian charm. In mid-summer, Manuel also bakes his Sicilian wood-fired pizzas in the stone oven.
Lakeview Cannobio Camping & Resort is a small holiday park on Lake Maggiore: a campsite and holiday village with mobile homes and holiday apartments, directly on the lake. A few hundred meters from Cannobio town center, Lakeview Resort is located directly in the nature reserve, nestled into the mountain on several terraced levels. This concept offers you a lot of privacy and a stunning, unique view of Lake Maggiore and the neighboring mountains and towns from every spot.
The Location
Lakeview Cannobio is surrounded by forests; the campsite is very close to nature and we are gradually landscaping it with Italian plants. A perfect place for individualists, nature lovers, and also water sports enthusiasts and recreational athletes – because Lakeview Resort borders directly on Lake Maggiore. We are not a large campsite, but a small, family-friendly holiday village directly on Lake Maggiore. Our guests appreciate this and enjoy our Italian hospitality.
The Exclusive Private Beach
Several hundred meters of our own shoreline form our exclusive private beach, which is complemented by a large green sunbathing lawn. Children will find fun and games here, parents relaxation. Slackline, Ninja Line, and wooden games offer variety on the beach. It never gets crowded on Lakeview Cannobio's very large private beach: even when the resort is at full capacity, the expansive private beach is never full.
Everyone finds their spot, whether shady, semi-shady, or sunny is preferred. The very long beach access is ideal for exploring Lake Maggiore by kayak, inflatable boat, or SUP. For motorboats, we also offer 14 private buoys where you can moor comfortably.
The Holiday Apartments
Our 16 Lakeview Holiday Apartments were lovingly renovated and newly furnished for the 2023 season. The apartments are spread across several buildings throughout the campsite. Each holiday apartment has a kitchenette, bathroom with shower and toilet; the bedrooms vary depending on the chosen size of the apartment.
Without altering the Italian charm and unique character of the buildings, we have managed to create holiday apartments with bright colors and modern furnishings that simultaneously offer affordable and attractive holidays. If you are looking for ultimate luxury, you are in the wrong place; our holiday apartments are modern, functional, clean, and simply beautiful and cozy. Terraces with garden furniture, a small grill, and a unique lake view complete each of our holiday apartments.
The Mobile Homes
16 Lakeview Mobile Homes offer our guests the charm of a camping holiday without the effort and stress of transporting a caravan or motorhome. Each mobile home at Lakeview Cannobio has a perfect view of Lake Maggiore and features a kitchenette, bedroom, shower, and toilet, thus providing the amenities of a holiday apartment. However, they are slightly smaller than the holiday apartments and, due to their construction, exude a typical camping flair. For the 2023 season, a large portion of the mobile homes were extensively renovated and visually integrated perfectly into our natural holiday village with plenty of wood. In 2024, nine mobile homes were replaced with new ones, our new Lakeview Premium Mobile Homes. The previous mobile homes remain available as cost-effective Standard Mobile Homes.
The Campsite
Our camping areas are spread over two terraces with 25 pitches. Electricity is available at each pitch if needed, and waste disposal is provided at the main building. We do not offer water and sewage at the pitch, as our campsite is not suitable for oversized motorhomes. Small and medium motorhomes, caravans, and of course tent campers appreciate our site for its extensive nature and the unique view of Lake Maggiore.
The infrastructure
We completely renovated our shower, washroom, and toilet facilities for the 2023 season and expanded them to include shower and washing facilities for people with physical disabilities. A particularly large family shower is available for families. Of course, hot water showers are included with us. The main building was also completely rebuilt for the 2023 season and once again houses a restaurant and bar. With a fully opening facade, Lakeview Restaurant & Lakeview Bar present themselves as modern and bright. Directly opposite is our open Lakeview Lounge, a beautiful covered spot for a cozy breakfast or a quick snack in between. Nearby, children can have fun on our playground, with a comfortable seating area for parents.
Our mission
For decades, we, two German entrepreneurial families, have spent our leisure time on Lake Maggiore and have found the most beautiful places and spots during this time. The lake is our great love and our adopted home. In autumn 2022, we fulfilled a dream and bought the venerable Bosco campsite. Located in the middle of a nature reserve, surrounded by Lake Maggiore, forests, and mountains – a true paradise!
With great dedication and excellent local craftsmen, we extensively rebuilt, renovated, and renewed the holiday complex. With a clear goal and focus: to transform this beautiful place with a long history and a unique view back into a paradise with our international team. We work day and night for you on this and are only satisfied when you are.

Our Story

What We Know About Cannobio
We live and work in Cannobio and know the place not just as a holiday destination, but as locals. We know which restaurants are worthwhile, which excursions children enjoy, and which hiking trail is suitable for guests with dogs. Plus, there are a few spots not found in every travel guide.
Our everyday knowledge
- The best way to the Sunday market: definitely early in the morning. And ideally not by car, but via our forest path. This saves a lot of stress looking for parking.
- With small children, we recommend: a daily ice cream in Cannobio (all three ice cream parlors on the promenade are great!), beach shoes for sensitive children's feet, and the water slides at Ondaland or Acqualand Cannobio. And when it rains: Splash & Spa at Monte Tamaro!
- The best jogging route: along the river in Cannobio. Park at the Lido, run along the river from there, over the Ponte Ballerino, and back through the old town. Finish with some exercises on the outdoor fitness equipment right by the lake.
- For an evening stroll in Cannobio: definitely along the promenade into the old town. Enjoy a glass of wine at Bava on the promenade and take a quick peek into the wine cellar – wonderful!
- The best way to arrive through the Gotthard: not on Saturdays, and preferably very early in the morning. That's precisely why we don't have fixed check-in days – make the most of it!
After years by the lake, we can tell by the color and movement of the water how the wind will turn today, and we notice early when the weather changes. We are happy to share this knowledge: at reception, via message, and on our pages about excursions, weather, and water temperature.
Lakeview is not an anonymous booking portal. When you write to us or come to our reception, you will be answered by people who live here and manage the place on-site.
Who Lakeview is particularly suitable for – and who it isn't
Lakeview is not a classic large campsite. Our facility is small and family-run, terraced on a hillside, and access to the pitches is not suitable for very large motorhomes. Lakeview is more intimate, closer, more personal. In return, you get direct access to the lake, an extraordinary lake view, and short distances to the water.
If you love Italian flair, good food, nature, and a fantastic lake view, you will love us and keep coming back.
If you need entertainment, kids' disco, loud music on the beach, bouncing mascots, and pitches with high fences and bushes with as little contact with other people as possible, then you've come to the wrong place. Others can do that much better.
